LIFE SUPPORT FOR AUTHORS

Spread the love

I’m an indie author of two short story collections – Walking the Wrong Way Home and Sharp as a Serpent’s Tooth – Eva and Other Stories, and a novella, Oliver. I’m the editor and designer of WELL READ Magazine’s Best of 2023, and Best of 2024 anthologies, the Encounters With Nature anthology, and co-editor of The Best of the Shortest: A Southern Writers Reading Reunion. I’m also a freelance writer for Amelia Islander Magazine, and the Editor in Chief and Publisher of WELL READ MAGAZINE.

I’ve learned so much about formatting, interior design, cover design, and self-publishing since my first short story collection came out and oddly enough, I’ve had fun doing it! But it can be frustrating and overwhelming trying to figure it all out on your own. I’d like to use what I’ve learned to help you.

Whether you’re thinking of self-publishing, querying agents or small presses, I can get your manuscript ready to send out without costing a fortune or waiting for months for a finished product.

People do judge a book by its cover. If you have no idea how to get started, but know what you want – no worries. I love a challenge! Prices include covers for both print and ebook with unlimited tweaks until it’s perfect. See below for a few examples of covers I’ve created.
Cover Design Pricing starts at $250

Don’t have the software or the patience to format your manuscript for printing? I’ll take your final manuscript and format it to fit the trim size and style you choose. Your manuscript will come back ready to print, publish, or send out for queries.
Interior design – $2 per page, $3 per page if photos and/or images are included.

You’re almost there, but your manuscript isn’t feeling quite as strong as you’d like? I’ll find “sticky sentences”, repetitive “filler” words, inconsistent dialogue, and other things that are missed during rewrites and multiple edits when you are focusing on the big picture. Small things writers miss but readers never do. Things that  keep a good manuscript from being a great book. You might find that you only need one chapter critiqued to get you going.
Professional Critique – $2 per page
