Thrilled and Flattered-Liebster Award Nomination

A few days ago, I found out that Kat at, Family Furore nominated me for the Liebster Award. It’s an award that recognizes new bloggers. I Googled it, of course I did, and this is what I found.

“Liebster” is a German word meaning beloved or dearest. This Award exists only on the internet as pixels, and is given to bloggers by other bloggers. Many see it as a way of promoting and recognizing fellow bloggers, for their efforts and accomplishments in becoming a bonafide blogger.

 

I was thrilled! And also flattered. I hope y’all know how much fun I’m having with my blog – and to have someone think that it’s worthy of a nomination? Well, all I can say is THANK YOU for reading!
Kat’s blog, Family Furore is a heart wrenching and inspiring story of what it’s like raising a teenager with bipolar, anxiety and PTSD. Her raw honesty and openness as she talks about the daily struggles and triumphs comes through loud and clear.

Family Furore’s questions for me:
1] Do you watch reality TV? If you do, which is your favourite show?
I don’t. I haven’t watched TV in years. It sounds crazy, but being a writer, an obsessive reader, and the owner of three crazy terriers I just don’t have time.
2] How many cushions do you have in your house? Do you actually use any of them?
If dog beds count-I have several! Moe, Curly, and Pearl definitely use them.
3] Do you prefer the city or the country? Why?
The country. I would much rather be surrounded by nature and wildlife, than traffic and neon lights.
4] What led you to create a website and start blogging?
I’m in the process of writing a novel and a collection of short stories. The blog is a great way to take a break from editing, while keeping that creative process going. Before I started the blog, I used Facebook as a sounding board but it just wasn’t enough. I finally took River Jordan’s advice and started my blog.
5] The Royal Wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – yay, nay or meh? Elaborate if you wish!
I didn’t keep up with the wedding myself, but I loved reading posts from friends who did. Of course, I loved the picture of Meghan’s beagle in the car with the Queen. That was probably my favorite picture of all.

7] How do you view humanity as a whole?
In my lifetime, I’ve witnessed the sweetest and the meanest traits in people. But I am hopeful that there are way more good ones out there than there are bad.
8] If you could make ONE change to the mental health care system, what would it be?
MORE AWARENESS. Society as a whole needs to be better educated on mental health issues.

I’m grateful that I’m still here ❤. Every day is a new beginning and I’m glad I didn’t give up when it looked like there were only endings.
